Lost Vape BT200, the 200 W box mod seen by a cloud chaser
Two cells, 200 watts, a rotary dial and a Bluetooth link. On paper the Lost Vape BT200 ticks every box of a mod built to impress. If dense vapour is what you are after, the real questions lie elsewhere. How much of that power actually serves the cloud, what is left of the device once the phone stays in your pocket, and what should you set first? Shop listings rarely answer those three points, which is exactly what this guide looks at.
Is the Lost Vape BT200 worth it for big clouds?
Yes, as long as you take it for what it is. The Lost Vape BT200, sold under the full name Centaurus BT200, is a regulated box mod running on two 18650 cells and firing from 5 to 200 W. It is driven by the Quest X 3.0 chipset, shows its settings on a 2.4 inch colour screen and offers seven vaping modes along with Bluetooth 5.1.
As a kit it comes with the Centaurus Sub Ohm V2 tank and UB Max coils, the lowest of which, at 0.15 ohm, is rated between 80 and 120 W. In other words, the mod has far more power than its own coils ask for. For cloud chasing that is comfortable headroom rather than a target.
What is in the Centaurus BT200 kit and what you still need
The kit brings the mod, its tank and two coils, but it will not vape straight out of the box, and the tank you get depends on the market it was made for.
The mod, its size and its cells
The mod measures 92.9 x 56.9 x 26.9 mm and weighs 150 g without cells according to Lost Vape, in an aluminium alloy and stainless steel chassis. The two 18650 cells are not included, so they have to be chosen and bought separately.
They sit behind a magnetic back panel that comes off without tools. The kit box also holds a USB-C cable, a spare parts pack and the paperwork.
The Centaurus Sub Ohm V2 and the 2 ml rule
The tank measures 26.8 mm across and 58.5 mm tall, in stainless steel and glass. It fills from the top by twisting and then sliding the top cap. Airflow also enters at the top, and vapour leaves through an 810 drip tip.
Lost Vape lists 5 ml for the international version of the tank and 2 ml for every TPD version. In the UK, refillable tanks are limited to 2 ml, so the kit sold here is the 2 ml version, supplied with a spare glass section of the same capacity. Nicotine e-liquid is also capped at 20 mg/ml and sold in 10 ml bottles, which is why larger bottles of high VG liquid are sold nicotine free, as our full VG e-liquid guide explains.
The Centaurus app is a bonus, not a requirement
Lost Vape presents the BT200 as the world’s first box mod controlled by an app over Bluetooth 5.1. On Android, the Centaurus app published by the manufacturer is still listed on Google Play at the time of writing. It lets you view and change the settings, switch modes and send wallpapers to the device.
On the iPhone side, our search of the App Store turned up no Centaurus app, even though the manufacturer’s page still mentions the App Store. One retailer goes as far as saying the app has been withdrawn everywhere, which is not true on Android.
For the vaping itself this changes very little, because every setting stays available on the device. The rotary dial works as both fire button and power selector, and the Set button just below it opens the settings.
The seven modes of the Lost Vape BT200 and the ones clouds need
The seven modes fall into three families, from the most direct to the most technical. For a very airy direct lung vape, Power mode does most of the work, and the others refine the result or speed things up.
Power and Boost, the base setting
Power mode sets the output from 5 to 200 W. It is the logical starting point with ready made coils, since each UB Max coil carries its own recommended range. The device adds a Boost function that you switch on or leave off depending on the feel you want.
There is no Smart mode, which would suggest a wattage based on the coil it detects. On the BT200 it is up to you to start at the bottom of the range and work up in steps, the method set out in our guide to wattage and airflow vape settings.
Turbo, a shortcut to handle with care
Turbo mode sets the output to the maximum the detected coil will accept. Handy for speed, it pushes the build to the top of its range by definition, which is where the cotton dries fastest if the liquid cannot keep up. For a dense, steady cloud it is better to stay in control in Power mode.
Voltage, VPC and temperature control
Voltage mode sets the output voltage. VPC draws a custom power curve across the length of the puff, and three temperature control modes cover SS316, nickel and titanium wire. VPC suits the cloud chaser who wants a strong start followed by a softer plateau. Temperature control mostly concerns rebuildable builds.
UB Max coils and the power dense vapour really needs
Lost Vape lists three UB Max coil values for this tank, all designed for direct lung vaping.
- 0.15 ohm, rated from 80 to 120 W
- 0.2 ohm, rated from 60 to 80 W
- 0.3 ohm, rated from 40 to 60 W
Two of these coils come in the kit, and the 0.15 ohm is part of every kit listing we checked. The figure that matters for clouds is that 120 W ceiling. Even the hungriest coil leaves the mod 80 W of headroom, and nothing forces you anywhere near it. The reasoning matches the one we applied to the Geek Vape T200 and its power headroom.
On the liquid side, dense vapour calls for a high glycerine e-liquid, thicker than a balanced blend and slower to soak the cotton. With the airflow wide open, the 0.15 ohm set around 80 W, at the bottom of its range, is a sound starting point before you climb.
Two cells for 200 W, what safety demands
The BT200 carries the protections you would expect on a device of this class, namely short circuit, low battery, overheating and an automatic cut-off after 10 seconds of firing. They do not replace the choice of cells, which supply the current.
Two matched 18650 cells, of the same model, the same age and charged together, are the baseline. The right cell is chosen by reading its manufacturer’s datasheet rather than the commercial wrap, then comparing its continuous discharge rating with what the build demands. Our sub-ohm vaping guide walks through that method.
The mod accepts coils down to 0.1 ohm, a technical floor rather than a target, because the real limit is always set by what the cells can actually deliver.
FAQ
A few questions come up again and again about this device, beyond its modes and coils.
How do I unlock a Lost Vape BT200?
On the BT200, switching on and off goes through a dedicated physical switch, where many box mods use five clicks of the fire button. If it stops responding, check the position of that switch first, then the orientation and charge of both cells.
Where can I find the BT200 user manual?
The kit ships with two printed manuals, and the mod sold on its own with one. Lost Vape’s product page also lists the device specifications and the coils that fit the tank.
Which atomisers fit the BT200?
The 510 connection takes atomisers up to 27 mm in diameter. The original Centaurus Sub Ohm V2 measures 26.8 mm, and a 25 or 26 mm rebuildable atomiser sits on it without overhanging the chassis.
Which colours does the BT200 come in?
Lost Vape lists five finishes, Black Carbon, Silver Carbon, Platinum Crest, Platinum Ridge and Pink Purple. The manufacturer also highlights customisable side panels.
Can the BT200 charge over USB-C?
Yes, the mod has a USB-C port that accepts 5 V at 2 A. For matched cells an external charger remains the cleaner option, because it lets you keep an eye on each cell separately.
Lost Vape BT200, what a cloud chaser should remember
The Lost Vape BT200 does not need its 200 W to produce dense vapour, and that is precisely what makes it interesting. Its UB Max coils top out at 120 W, the dial and Set button reach every setting without a phone, and the UK version of its tank stays within the 2 ml limit.
To get the best from it, the order never changes. Matched cells chosen from their maker’s datasheet, the coil set at the start of its range, the airflow open, then the power raised step by step. Approached that way, the Lost Vape BT200 becomes a solid base for exploring cloud chasing, well beyond the effect of its spec sheet.
