Mistyk by Liquideo, a 30/70 dragon fruit liquid for sub-ohm
A dragon fruit, an icy mint and 70 per cent vegetable glycerine. On paper, Mistyk ticks the boxes of a liquid made for dense vapour. Yet the shop listings that fill the top results stick to a few lines of description. A cloud chaser has other questions. How does that ratio behave in a sub-ohm coil, what happens to strength and ratio once the large bottle is topped up, and why do two liquids share the same name?
Mistyk, what is in the bottle
Mistyk is an e-liquid from Liquideo, made in France and part of the Juice Heroes collection. According to the manufacturer’s page, it pairs sweet dragon fruit with icy mint and is listed under both fruity and fresh profiles.
The liquid is mixed at 30/70 PG/VG, meaning 30 per cent propylene glycol and 70 per cent vegetable glycerine. It comes as a ready-to-vape 10 ml bottle and as a 50 ml nicotine-free shortfill.
For a cloud-oriented setup, Mistyk therefore starts with a clear edge over 50/50 liquids. Direct lung vaping on sub-ohm hardware is also listed among the intended uses for this liquid.
A 30/70 built for sub-ohm
The ratio is the first thing to read on a bottle when dense vapour is the goal. Mistyk’s ratio puts the liquid in the comfort zone of tanks with large wicking ports, with a few settings to watch.
What glycerine brings to the cloud
Vegetable glycerine is the main source of vapour volume. At 70 per cent VG, this liquid produces thicker vapour than a balanced recipe on the same hardware at the same power.
This base is also more viscous. In a coil with generous wicking ports it reaches the cotton without trouble. On a fine coil with small liquid inlets, however, wicking slows down, which risks a dry hit if puffs follow each other too quickly.
Icy mint under heavy airflow
On a tank with wide-open airflow, the air passing through the chamber already makes the vapour less warm. The recipe’s cooling adds to that effect, and the overall result feels colder the further the air inlets are opened.
Dragon fruit is a subtle flavour. As a rule, a light fruit note reads better at moderate power than at the top of the range, where heat takes over. Our guide to vape settings for clouds sets out the method step by step.
Mistyk in 10 ml or 50 ml, two formats for two uses
Liquideo sells the recipe in two forms. The format changes the taste less than the way the bottle is prepared and the final ratio.
The ready-to-vape 10 ml
The small bottle goes straight into the tank, with no mixing. It keeps the 30/70 ratio and comes in several nicotine strengths, including a nicotine-free version.
With nothing added to it, this format is sure to keep the original ratio. For anyone attached to that 70 per cent glycerine, that argument outweighs any other.
The 50 ml in a 70 ml bottle
The large format is sold without nicotine. Two retailers list it in a 70 ml bottle, which leaves 20 ml of free space to top up the liquid.
In the UK, the Tobacco and Related Products Regulations 2016 limit nicotine e-liquid bottles to 10 ml and cap their strength at 20 mg/ml. A shortfill therefore stays at 0 mg, and any nicotine is added with 10 ml nicotine shots.
What nicotine shots do to Mistyk
Nicotine strength is each vaper’s own choice, and this article does not recommend one. The maths is still worth setting out, because every shot changes the volume, the strength and the ratio of the bottle.
With one 20 mg/ml shot, the bottle holds 200 mg of nicotine in 60 ml, which works out at 3.3 mg/ml. With two shots, it holds 400 mg in 70 ml, or 5.7 mg/ml, slightly below the round figure often quoted.
For the ratio, everything depends on the shot’s base. A 30/70 shot leaves the mix at 30/70. With a 50/50 shot, it moves to about 33/67 (20 ml of PG in 60 ml), then to about 36/64 with two (25 ml of PG in 70 ml).
Every unflavoured shot also dilutes the recipe. With one shot, the 50 ml of flavoured liquid makes up five sixths of the bottle, and five sevenths with two. On a subtle fruit, that dilution shows more than on a heavily flavoured recipe. Our guide to full VG e-liquids covers choosing a base for your hardware.
Mistyk by Liquideo or Mistyk by The Same, avoid the mix-up
Search for the name and two different products appear. The Same, another French brand, also sells a liquid called Mistyk, also built on dragon fruit.
The difference is the ratio. Two other retailers list The Same’s Mistyk at 50/50, whereas Liquideo’s is 30/70. On a sub-ohm setup with large wicking ports, the gap is far from trivial, since 50/50 is thinner and gives less dense vapour.
Before filling a tank set up for 30/70, it is worth checking the brand name and the ratio printed on the label.
Mistyk formats by hardware
The table sums up what each version offers a vaper chasing clouds, based on the listings consulted.
| Product | Ratio | Nicotine | On a sub-ohm setup |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mistyk Liquideo 10 ml | 30/70 | several strengths, including 0 mg | suited, original ratio kept |
| Mistyk Liquideo 50 ml | 30/70 | 0 mg, 70 ml bottle | suited, ratio shifts with the shot |
| Mistyk The Same 50 ml | 50/50 | 0 mg | moderate sub-ohm only |
Our view is about the format. For a tank with large ports, Liquideo’s version makes sense in both sizes. The usual precautions of sub-ohm vaping and staying safe still apply, whatever the recipe.
FAQ
These questions come up often in searches about this liquid and its ratio. The answers draw on the listings consulted.
Which coil suits a 30/70 e-liquid?
A 30/70 liquid is generally used with a sub-ohm coil, below 1 ohm, with large wicking ports. Pods fitted with low-resistance coils are also among the intended uses for Mistyk.
What is Mistyk made of?
Two retailers list propylene glycol, vegetable glycerine, flavourings and, depending on the version, nicotine. The 50 ml shortfill contains none.
Which nicotine strengths exist in 10 ml?
The 10 ml bottle comes at 0, 3, 6 and 10 mg/ml, all within the UK’s 20 mg/ml cap.
Is there a Mistyk flavour concentrate?
Liquideo’s collection page only shows 10 ml and 50 ml bottles, with no concentrate format for this recipe.
Which other recipes are in the Juice Heroes collection?
They include Mask’On with melon and honey, Pinky with grapefruit, orange and lemon, Katz with lemony jackfruit and Wonder with soursop and aloe vera.
Mistyk on a cloud setup, what to remember
Dragon fruit, icy mint and a 30/70 ratio, Liquideo’s Mistyk is one of the fruit liquids that naturally suit sub-ohm. The 10 ml keeps its ratio intact, while the 50 ml calls for honest nicotine shot maths.
All that remains is not to confuse it with its 50/50 namesake. Once properly identified, Mistyk earns its place on a tank set up for dense vapour, and the other Cloud Nationz guides help choose the hardware and the base to go with it.
